Common questions

Is checking grants really free?

Yes — seeing which grants you may qualify for on Tradesfind costs nothing and needs no sign-up. You apply for each grant directly through its official scheme (SEAI, gov.ie or your local council). We just put them all in one place and link you to the official page.

Do I have to use Tradesfind to get a grant?

Not at all. The grants are government schemes you apply for yourself. Tradesfind simply helps you find a verified, insured tradesman to carry out the work once you know what you qualify for — that's where we come in.

Are these amounts guaranteed?

No — the amounts here are a guide. The final figure and who qualifies are decided by each scheme, and rates change (SEAI updated several in 2026). Always confirm on the official page before you plan the work.

Some grants say “council-run” — what does that mean?

Grants like the Housing Adaptation and Mobility Aids grants are run by your local county council rather than a national body. The grant is the same across Ireland, but you apply through — and are paid by — your own council. Pick your county above and we'll point you the right way.

Can a tradesman on Tradesfind help me with the grant paperwork?

Many can advise on what's eligible for their trade — for example an SEAI-registered contractor for energy grants. Find a pro in your area and just ask; the app shows who's verified and insured.
